During my undergraduate degree, I worked for a living history museum and completed a study for the Calgary Emergency Management Agency on social vulnerability and disasters.
After graduating from Mount Royal University in Calgary, I moved to the Scotland for a year, where I worked again in the historical tourism sector - this time at a 13th century castle in the highlands.
Upon moving back to Canada, I was hired as a writer for the Antarctic University of Canada, through which I published three books and several articles.
